The 3 Great Tibetan Regions

Ü-Tsang, Kham, Amdo… it’s in this way we can divide Tibet in three great areas. Each of them contains a multitude of Temples, of villages and of historical site. Each area deep down in his valley contains something on his own and is populated by men and women attached to their habits and dialect. However, this diversity which made the pride and the richness of the Tibetan area is too unknown. We give priority for each area locals Tibetan partners in order to value this cultural diversity, and for your guide make you discover all the charm of his area.


U-Tsang refers to Central Tibet. These areas are at the heart of the province “Tibet Autonomous Region”, the entrance requires a special permit to enter Tibet.

Kham is a Tibetan region in Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai and east of the “Tibet Autonomous Region”. Tibetans in Kham are the famous Khampa.
